It finally came.

To many, especially the support staffs, the announcement made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi that the government is increasing Civil Servants' salary is a huge sigh of relief. For the higher officials, it is a sign that the stakeholders have an increased recognition of what the Civil Servants have done to the country, and what they have to offer in the years to come. The increase is also applauded to be more realistic to the increasing living costs in the country, and more competitive when compared with the private sector, which would expect more bright fellow countrymen into the service, while retaining those who are already in the service.

To PTD officers, especially the young greenhorns, the salary increase is not only a gift by the government, but also an indicator that the stakes has just been raised, and the gear should now be a level higher.

Alhamdulillah,

Moga warga kerja kerajaan akan lebih bersemangat untuk berbakti kepada negara... Jangan tambah kereta, tuko kereta, tambah cawangan tapi melaburlah demi masa pencen nanti...
